Safety, privacy and what we will not do
Fablebee puts a real child's name into a story. That is the whole point of it, and it is also the reason to be careful. Here is what we collect, what we refuse, and what we are still working on.

We ask for very little, on purpose
A first name or a nickname, and an age band — 0–2, 3–5, 6–9 or 10–12. Never a date of birth. Never a photograph. Never a school, an address or a class name, and nothing that would identify a child to a stranger.
The child is the person the data is about, even though you are the customer. Every decision about what is collected, how long it is kept and who it is sent to is made on that basis.
Nothing is shared, with anyone
There is no gallery. There is no feed. There is no way to send a story to another parent, and no link that would let a stranger hear one. Your stories are visible to your household and to nobody else.
That is a deliberate design choice rather than a feature we have not got round to. A service where families can send each other content is a different kind of service, with different duties, and Fablebee is not going to become one.
Your children never sign in
Fablebee is an adult's account. Children do not have logins, are never asked for anything, and are never shown a screen that asks them to do something. They listen.
There are no streaks, no badges, no daily nudges and no notifications designed to bring anybody back. A bedtime product that engineers engagement is working against the thing it is for.
What we will never write
Every story is checked against a list of things we will not produce before it reaches you. The terms set out that list.
We would rather be straight about the limits of that check than oversell it: it runs on the same model that writes the story, so it is a safety net and not an independent second opinion. If something still comes out wrong, tell us — a person reads that mailbox, and we would much rather hear about it.
It is AI, and we say so
Fablebee stories are AI-generated audio stories, written by a language model and read by a synthetic voice. That appears on every page of this site, not buried in a policy, because you should never have to work it out. How we use AI is the longer version.
Where your data goes
The account and the stories live in a database in London. Writing and narration happen through providers we require to run in the European Economic Area.
Requiring it is the honest claim, and it is the one we make. We are not going to tell you data never leaves Europe, because a provider's own operational logs are not something we control. The privacy notice says exactly this, at more length.
How long anything is kept
What we keep lists it item by item: while you have an account, what happens to the words of a story, what is removed when you delete your account, and the records we are legally required to hold on to.
Asking us to delete it
You can delete your account from the account page, and the stories go with it. For any other request about your or your child's data, email help@fablebee.com and say what you would like. We respond within one month, and will tell you if we need longer.

This is a plain-English summary written by the people who built Fablebee. It is not legal advice and it has not been through a solicitor. The four documents under Legal are the ones that actually bind us, and where this page and one of them disagree, the document is right.
